Print Publications
- Handbooks - The book for your den (Tiger Cub Handbook, Wolf Handbook, Bear Handbook,
Webelos Handbook) is a key reference. Keep in mind that your den needs to complete a number of achievements
in that book to earn their badge of rank.
- Leader Book - The main "how to" guide for being a Cub Scout leader, including rules, guidelines, forms, and other
information. You'll get a copy at the Leadership Essentials training class.
- Scouting Magazine - After you are a registered leader for a few months, you'll start receiving Scouting Magazine
at home. Take a look at their
current issue online.
- Boy's Life - If you are also the parent of a Scout, your son will be receiving Boy's Life magazine at home. While
this is targeted at youth, you'll find kid humor and other ideas there.
- Cub Scout Leader How-To Book - Lots of crafts, games, activities and other ideas. You can
probably borrow a copy from one of the other leaders in the pack.
- Cub Scout Program Helps - Billed as "Complete plans for den and pack meetings", this
annually published guide provides monthly theme-oriented materials. Some months are more complete than others.
- Cub Scout Academics and Sports Program Guide - If your den is doing really well completing
achievements, they may be ready to earn some belt loops and pins. This book provides the specific requirements.
